This sketch illustrates the dilemma many Christians face when they think about their hopes and dreams. On the one hand,we naturally desire our circumstances to be as painless as possible, and that is our fervent hope. Yet at the same time,we want our hope to be in Christ and to be mature in our faith. Ironically, the two are mutually exclusive, and the Christian life is often a battle between these two hopes.
