Many of you love Readers Theater because it's a third less complicated than regular drama. All the actors sit on stools, use the script as a prop, and work on team-storytelling. Although Readers Theater still requires good rehearsal, it can often come together very quickly. Here are some of our favorites...
1) And The Word of the Lord Came to John - Jonah’s struggle to have compassion on Nineveh is contemorized in this parody with the prophet John and his public schoool.
2) A Conscience Revisited - temptation and integrity are the theme of this devilish tale reminiscent of C. S. Lewis’ Screwtape Letters.
3) The Celebration - this reading portrays Jesus’ parable of the feast in a contemporary setting. It illustrates the banquet of God’s grace available to all who are humble and needy enough to enjoy!
4) The Last Enemy - a Squire in training finds his Knight predictably distant when the Squire is called to fight new battles.
5) Pilgrim's Quest 1 - Pilgrim learns he must leave his self-made bag of cures at the gate before he can proceed toward the King’s Chamber.
6) Pilgrim's Quest 2 - Pilgrim learns that some of his ailments will never be cured so that he will always know where to for comfort.
